CUSA is the acronym of China-UU Scholar Association. The foundation represents and serves Chinese PhD candidates and researchers working in Utrecht.

As the Chinese scholars and students association based in Utrecht University, CUSA (ACSSNL-Utrecht) seeks opportunities to cooperate with UU officials in terms of student activities, welfares as well as international environment. Recently, CUSA starts to pay more attentions on Chinese alumnus not only to maintain the good experiences and relationship, but also to build up good networks and cooperation opportunities for both current students and alumni. CUSA believes that alumni will be an important part of their future agenda of internationalization.

To achieve the goal, CUSA got in contact to the alumni office of Utrecht University to seek for potential cooperation opportunities. The meeting with Willemijn Vermaas, the alumni officer of Utrecht University was held earlier today to discuss the potentials of cooperation between CUSA and Alumni office UU. During the meeting, Willemijn explained the university’s interest to attract more Chinese students and how alumni could play an important role in it. Haoran Yang, the Chair of CUSA said that “Alumni are important resources for both the university and students, as well as for themselves.” He explained the Win-Win situation for each party and mentioning CUSA is willing to help building and facilitating the alumni network in the future. The meeting lasts for 1 hour and both parties agreed to the urgent need for cooperation between CUSA and the alumni office in building up alumni networks in China.
