CUSA is the acronym of China-UU Scholar Association. The foundation represents and serves Chinese PhD candidates and researchers working in Utrecht.

The opening ceremony of the international students and scholars of the 2016-2017 school year hosted at Academie gebouw, academic holy land of Utrecht University, on Wednesday, December 7th by the embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Utrecht University and China-UU Scholar Association.

The opening ceremony not only invited Prof. Bert van der Zwaan, President of the University of Utrecht, Mr. Meng Qingyu, the Embassy, and Wang Yiwei, the Secretary of the Embassy Office, but also invited a number of graduating alumni, master and doctoral students to share experiences. All the international students and scholars whether fresh or old, undergraduate, master or doctorate, were all welcomed by the China-UU Scholar Association. This was really a great opportunity for everyone to reunion together, getting to know each other better and communicating with each other. On the day, some professional person came and helped everyone to solve the problems and issues about your life and study. In order to let everyone enjoy and have a great time, free snacks and drinks were provide by the China-UU Scholar Association.

This event focused on academic research, especially for the fresh doctoral students and the bachelor and master students who are interested in academic research. The presence of the principal and the welcome speech also embodied the importance of the international students and scholars who study at Utrecht University.
